Terms of Service

SIAN operates buildforsouth.com as a registration and screening platform for startups seeking to join SIAN's angel network. You sign in with Google, upload a pitch deck, and provide a small number of additional details. An automated process reads structured information out of your deck (company details, sector, traction, funding ask, and similar); you review and correct that information before it's treated as final. This replaces SIAN's previous Google Form-based registration process.

You agree, when using this service, that you will:

• Submit a deck and information for a real startup you're authorised to represent, and that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
• Only submit content you have the right to submit — a deck you wrote or are authorised to share, not someone else's confidential material.
• Not attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or manipulate the platform or its automated extraction process — for example, by embedding instructions in a deck intended to influence how it's processed, or by attempting to access another founder's submission.
• Not use the registration process to submit spam, fraudulent applications, or content unrelated to a genuine startup registration.

SIAN may decline, remove, or request correction of a submission that doesn't meet the above, and may suspend a user's ability to register if this is violated repeatedly.

Submitting a registration — including a pitch deck and any supporting information — does not create any obligation on SIAN's part to review, respond to, fund, invest in, or provide feedback on your startup. While SIAN aims to review registrations and respond within a published timeline, that is a service commitment, not a contractual entitlement, and does not guarantee any particular outcome, response, or timeframe.

If you confirm your registration and SIAN selects your startup for further consideration, the confirmed information from your registration — your deck and the extracted, founder-confirmed fields — may be shared with members of SIAN's angel network for the purpose of evaluating your startup. Unconfirmed information (anything you haven't reviewed and confirmed) is not shared with the angel network. See the Privacy Policy for how your information is otherwise used and protected.

This section — including any limitation of liability, warranty disclaimers, and how disputes or governing law are handled — is legal-advice territory and has been deliberately left for qualified counsel to draft, rather than guessed at here. Its absence does not mean SIAN disclaims all liability or that you have no recourse; it means these terms are incomplete until a lawyer reviews them, and this page must not be treated as final before that happens.

We may update these terms as SIAN's process or legal review evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
